Today’s menu is Filipino ginataang bilo-bilo, except this recipe is made easy with Synear Foods Sweet Ube Dumplings. They can be found at Costco, along with their Chicken Soup Dumpling and my personal favorite, their Wagyu Beef Soup Dumpling with Truffle Flavor. These 3 products are available exclusively at these events and are new flavors for the LA area! They’re so easy to prepare and would be a crowd-pleaser at your next party or gathering.

I used the Sweet Ube Dumplings to make this easy ginataang bilo-bilo. This dish is rich and creamy with the sweetness of the coconut milk and cream, balanced by the soft dumplings and the nutty flavor of the sweet potatoes and bananas.

Instructions

  1. Steam the Synear Ube Sweet Taro Dumplings (1 package) for 10-12 minutes until fully cooked. Set them aside once done.

  2. Bring water (1 cup), coconut milk (1 12-oz can), coconut cream (1 12-oz can), and sugar (½ cup) to a boil in a large pot. Stir occasionally to dissolve the sugar.

  3. Once the coconut mixture is boiling, add the cubed sweet potatoes (3–4). Let them cook for about 10-12 minutes, or until tender.

  4. Stir in your cooked tapioca pearls (1–1 ½ cups), sliced saba bananas (3–4), and jackfruit strips (½–1 can). Let this simmer for 3-5 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.

  5. Adjust taste to preference and consistency. For a thinner sauce, add the remaining cup of water. Taste the mixture and add more sugar if desired for extra sweetness. Stir gently.

  6. Gently add the steamed Synear Sweet Ube Dumplings into the pot. Let everything cook together for another 1-2 minutes to heat through.
